Sawtooth Century 2008

Good weather, good friends and good riding!  We started out with the group of 150 or so from Ketchum Saturday August 16, 2008.  It’s fun to ride through Ketchum and down Hwy. 75 to Elkhorn road with a police escort and the cars all stopped on the side of the road for you.  Elkhorn hill always breaks up the crowd.  We got into a group from Saddle Rd. to the SNRA where we made a pit stop.  Then on to Galena Lodge where we stopped briefly before crossing the timer for the king/queen of the hill competition.  It was slow (for me) up Galena, but steady.  The ride down and into Alturas was great with very little wind for once.

We had a nice lunch at Alturas and quickly headed back out towards Galena.  This time the ride up Galena was even slower for me but I made it.  Going down was great and Jim and I really were moving until about Prairie Creek where we hit a head wind which got stronger as we neared Ketchum.

No fire this year!  That is good news.  It was perfect with very little wind and it seemed like everyone was having fun.  We saw lots of friends on the ride and after.  I’ll post a link to the results if I ever find them.
